Dune

Dune is a mixture of a quest and an atypical real-time strategy. The project is based on the book "Dune" Frank Herbert and its screening for the authorship of David Lynch. And this is the first attempt to make a video game based on this work. It uses the design of characters from the film.

Dune events unfold on the desert planet Arrakis. It is there that the spice is mined - the substance necessary to create a rejuvenation drug. Emperor Shaddam IV offers home Atreides is a heavenly body. However, they are already shopping their long-standing enemies - Harconnene House. The management of the faction agrees to the proposal of the ruler to take possession of the birthplace of Spice, get rich in its mining and divided with rivals. We manage the floor - the son of Duke Summer I and his concubine Lady Jessica.

The game begins as Advenchur with a view from the first person, and then it gradually becomes a similar strategy. Protagonist is managed by a mouse. At the bottom of the screen there is a list of available actions, the direction of movement and the local encyclopedia, facilitating the immersion in ENT. During conversations with characters you can choose a replica. Moving inside the level occurs between the screens. But to get to another location, you need to sit in the aircraft (ornithopter) and choose the destination. In the project there is a change of day. Special indicator displays the number of days and position of the local sun.

We need to establish the extraction of Spice. To do this, we must walk in settlements (sietses) and hire local residents (freemen). They will need harvesters and ornithopters. To confront the sandy worms and Harronnenam, it will be necessary to find weapons and equipment (it can be found, that and buy it from smugglers), as well as a person that the population will enjoy all this. In addition, it is important to keep track of the morality of the detachments and the boundaries of their possessions. In addition to the economic and combat component, there is a possibility to perform small tasks.
