Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage This is a continuation of the adventure game with Horror elements from the first person. The creators were inspired by the king of literary horror, the writer G.F. Lovecraft, creating an atmospheric plot and a characteristic creepy soundtrack.

Players will again take on the role of a police detective Howard Loreida, who suffered from paranormal phenomena in the first part. And unlike her where the gameplay was like a Point and-Click Quest, The Dark Lineage is a full-fledged three-dimensional game, with animated rollers, resembling classic 3D adventures in the style of Penumbra or Amnesia.

The graphic engine supports NVIDIA PHYSX, so the elements of the gameplay are filled with the furniture dragging, interaction with levers and other "physics". Graphics have become better, added dynamic shadows and lighting. The effect of the image, as on the old film, enhances the oppressive situation of what is happening. Especially attentive players are expected to be secret zones, and two different endings. For hardcore gamers there are various modes of complexity and tip levels: "Standard", "Detective" or "Senior Detective".
