Shovel Knight Showdown is a multiplayer branch of a popular indie platformer. Initially, it was a combat mode for SK: Treasure Trove. Then he became an independent project. From his progenitor, the game is characterized by genre: it fights.

16 heroes and villains from the original product are available at Shovel Knight Showdown. Among them, there is the whole of the Order without mercy led by a sorceress, as well as shovel, black, shield knights and other characters (some of them appeared in the form of NPC). According to the string, they all found themselves in the world of endless battles due to a magic catastrophe. They need to find the source of all problems to return home.

For every fighter, a campaign story is spelled out. In the scene mode there are fights with opponents, mini-games and a final battle with a boss. Also there is a training, separate battles (named here by smelting) and fighting for treasures, where it is necessary to collect randomly appearing at the jewel levels. You can charge the computer to choose the type of entertainment instead of players.

At the same time, up to 4 participants can fight (here it is allowed to arrange classical duels). There is an opportunity to fight bots and friends. Multiplayer supports sacks over one computer through a split screen and network fights. Warriors find out attitudes on the plains, in the Coliseum, the castle of Slavnotopi, the clocky tower, a volatile car, a notched city, a village. Part of the arena are recycled locations from the main game and add-ons to it.
