Gridberd tells that all houses contain terrifying secrets. Most secrets are difficult to solve, and only more questions may appear on the responses. But the life of the chief character depends on whether he is able to find answers to his own questions. The process is represented as an action-horror from the first person. The protagonist falls into the ancient mansion of Johnson, where he must solve a terrifying secret.

The main character wants to know who he really is, how it turned out and what happened. As soon as the hero is awakened, then notes that there is a ghost around him who wishes to kill him. Ghost can use material objects and chasing the ward with its ax. The player has to go through the generic mansion and visit the darkest and distant corners of the building.

Gradually, the user learns more information and about events that took place in distant times when the family was still alive. Interacting with the environment, gamer will solve puzzles and open secret passages. All over the house installed a bunch of traps capable of killing a character.
