Echelon uses science fiction setting. Taitle transfers users to a distant future. In 2351, humanity leads war against the aggressors from the planet, they seek to capture all the colonies of people. Events occur on the Rockada IV planet. The story is served on behalf of the pilot of the Galactic Federation Air Force. Players have the way from Cadets to Assov.

Scene campaign is divided into 25 missions. In the tasks, they ask to protect the aircraft carrier, conduct exploration of the fight, to accompany transport, make sweeping and so on. There is a partial nonlinearity. Objectives are sometimes allowed to perform in different ways. And in case of failure operations, you can continue the game without having to start an episode re-if you fly to the base. In this case, failure will entail certain consequences. There is also a multiplayer for 48 people with three modes: Capture The Flag, Classic and Command Deathmatch. In Russian localization, the product is known called "Storm". All aircraft are divided into 4 types:
